Rawlinsons is proud to introduce our new subscription option for 2018 with the launch of our digital media publications.
The new electronic version offers our customers easy 24/7 access to Australia’s largest library of construction cost information.
When is it available?
Our electronic versions will be available to purchase mid-January 2018.
So what exactly does electronic mean?
Our electronic publications are cloud based PDF versions of our extensively circulated construction cost reference books. Words and annotations can be searched and highlighted, just like a PDF.
Can I download, print or save my publication?
Our new electronic publications are cloud based and require a small piece of software to be downloaded onto your Windows or MAC workstation. Once this software has been downloaded, you can access the publication anytime, as long as you are connected to the internet. To ensure our publications are secure, the software is encrypted so users cannot print, save, screen shot, print screen, snip, copy and paste or screen share.
Can I view a sample before I buy?
You certainly can, you can obtain a free 4 page sample of our electronic software soon when the publication has launched.
What if the electronic version doesn’t fulfil my requirements?
If you purchase the full electronic copy and then decide you would rather the traditional hard copy, just give us a call and we will provide a one off swap of your purchase, free of charge. Your electronic access will be revoked and a hard copy posted as a replacement.
How many users can access the publication?
One purchase equals one license. Multiple users can be set up to use the license; however it only allows one user to access the publication at one time, much like a traditional book. If you need to use it, you need to wait until the person before you has finished. If you wish to allow your users to access more than one license at a time you can purchase multiple licenses, just like purchasing multiple hard copies for your office. We offer discounts for purchases of 5 or more, please contact our office on (08) 9424 5800 or electronic@rawlhouse.com for details.
What is the difference between a Licensee and a General User?
The initial purchaser will become the first licensee, they can then allocate access to as many users as they wish. Other users can be set up as Licensees or General Users.
Licensees can; view their publications, view current subscriptions, add new users, change details and order additional licenses if needed. It is up to the licensee to keep user records up to date. General Users can; view the publications that they have been assigned access to, view company details and change personal details.
We have offices in multiple locations; do we need separate licenses?
The best solution is to have individual licenses for each office location. This allows for a separate licensee in each location to oversee the set-up of users and usage in that office, as well as avoiding the situation where the license is tied up in one office when another office needs to use it.
What exactly is the software I will be downloading? Is it verified?
The software is a viewer which allows you to decrypt and access the cloud based publications, allowing the user to place comments/notes, highlights and other annotations that will only be visible to all users under their common licensee.
This viewer will be required to be downloaded to every computer that will be accessing the publications.
The software is verified and the application is fully certified by a third party.
How do I purchase a copy?
Once you have purchased your electronic publication via our online checkout, you will be emailed links to our easy to follow instructions on how to download the small and free software on your Windows or Mac workstation. As the software is cloud based, you will require access to an internet connection.
Can I use the electronic version on my mobile phone?
Currently our software is not supported for a mobile device and there is not an application to download.
Can you help me to download my new publication?
There will be a full user guide available upon the launch of the publication.
