Rawlinsons are currently engaged by the City of Melville to provide full cost management consultancy services for the refurbishment of the 50 metre pool (lap pool), 25 metre pool (leisure pool), concourses, change rooms, toilets, and associated infrastructure at LeisureFit Booragoon. Furthermore, Rawlinsons are currently engaged for these services on the HVAC upgrades and refurbishments to both the 25 metre and 50 metre pool halls.
As these works are all being carried within an existing building, transport and accessibility logistics are some main cost drivers in this project. This includes different construction methodologies to hoist and transport the large equipment within the existing space, staging of the works to ensure the centre can still be active with its other components, and integration with the existing services.
To date, the pre tender estimate has been updated twice since the initial pre-tender estimate to represent current construction costs.
The project is in the design phase and due to commence construction in 2023.
